NHL Announces 2025-26 All-Rookie Team
NEW YORK – The National Hockey League announced today the 2025-26 NHL All-Rookie Team, including the three players voted as finalists for the Calder Memorial Trophy: defenseman Matthew Schaefer of the New York Islanders as well as forwards Ivan Demidov of the Montreal Canadiens and Beckett Sennecke of the Anaheim Ducks. Also named to the 2025-26 All-Rookie Team are goaltender Jakub Dobes of the Canadiens, defenseman Alexander Nikishin of the Carolina Hurricanes and forward Jimmy Snuggerud of the St. Louis Blues. Canucks name Seeley assistant GM
The Vancouver Canucks have named Richard Seeley general manager of the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks and assistant GM of Vancouver. Seeley has spent the last eight seasons as GM of the AHL’s Ontario Reign, culminating in a Pacific Division title in 2025-26 with a franchise-best record of 47-20-3-2. Seeley was previously the head coach and director of hockey operations for the Los Angeles Kings’ ECHL affiliate in Manchester, reaching the postseason all three years. Rocket’s Vincent joins Kraken as assistant
The Seattle Kraken have hired Pascal Vincent as an assistant coach. Vincent spent the last two seasons as head coach of the AHL’s Laval Rocket, leading the team to a combined record of 89-42-6-7 and back-to-back North Division titles. He won the Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award as the AHL’s outstanding coach in 2024-25 – the second time in his career he has received that honor – as the Rocket captured the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy as the league’s regular-season champions before reaching the Eastern Conference Finals. Gulls’ McIlvane joins Boston Bruins
San Diego Gulls head coach Matt McIlvane has been hired by the Boston Bruins as an assistant coach. McIlvane joins head coach Marco Sturm’s staff after three seasons in San Diego, where he led the Gulls to a record of 88-97-23-8. This season, San Diego earned its first berth in the Calder Cup Playoffs since 2022.
