BILOXI, Miss. - Fayetteville FireAntz forward Rob Sich continued his assault on the SPHL record book Friday night and in the process hit a hockey milestone.

At 16:47 of the second period, Sich became the first player in league history to reach 50 goals in a season. The score came off of a face-off during a Fayetteville power play. Sich won the draw cleanly and whistled a wrist shot past Mississippi goaltender Bill Zaniboni. It came in his 46th game of the season.

Mississippi scored three unanswered goals in the third period to win the game 6-5.

For Sich it was his 194th career SPHL goal, putting him near the top of that category. Knoxville's Kevin Swider is the current career goals leader with 208.

Last weekend, Sich broke his own record for goals in a season when he scored twice in a 5-1 victory over Knoxville. Back during the 2006-2007 season, he tallied 46 goals.

This year, he has been held without a goal in just 15 games and without a point eight times.
