Blues win twice on the week

ST LOUIS, Mo – The Blues played a light schedule this week winning both their games.  It would take a shootout win the sink the Islanders on Thursday.  On Saturday, St. Louis would defeat the Blue Jackets taking a solid victory from the game.

March 11, 2010

Blues 2, New York Islanders 1

In a hard fought battle, St. Louis bounced back from a beating against Colorado to steal a win from the Islanders.  The Blues received a game tying goal from Patrik Berglund in the second period and complimented 36 shots on goal with lights out defense.  St. Louis would win in the shootout 2-0 receiving goals from Brad Boyes and T.J. Oshie.

Blues 5, Columbus 1

Andy McDonald opened up the scoring for the St. Louis Blues and contributed a total of three points to defeat the Blue Jackets.  Chris Mason was exceptional in net stopping 24 of 25 shots to uphold his end of the ice. Alexander Steen contributed a goal and an assist for two points on the night.
