WORCHESTER, MA – The Boston College Eagles are heading back to the Frozen Four for the 22nd time in school history, their 9th in the last 13 seasons, after a wild 9-7 victory over the Yale Bulldogs and will move on to play at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., on Thursday, April 8 against Miami (Ohio). Wisconsin and RIT will play in the other final four matchup. Yale responded with the game's final three goals to get the Bulldogs to within two goals but would get no closer the rest of the night. Atkinson’s offensive outburst helped but him a fifty point season (27 goals, 23 assists). The hat trick was his third hat trick in the last 10 games.
Both teams put up 39 shots in the game. Junior John Muse made 32 saves for the Eagles in the win, his 60th career win and his 15th in 16 postseason games.
Yale's Mark Arcobello had a game-high six points (3 goals 3 assists).
Boston College head coach Jerry York is now 26-4 in the NCAA Tournament.
