MANCHESTER, UK - MANCHESTER Phoenix look set to unveil their first overseas forward for the forthcoming English Premier League Ice Hockey season.

Sources close to the club have suggested the player could be a seasoned goal scorer with European experience.

Phoenix have long been linked with former fan favourite Joe Tallari who scored more than 80 points for the club in 2007/08.

The 29-year-old left the club to pusue a career in Italian hockey so he could ice for the national side.

He was reportedly offered a contract last season, but opted to stay with Eppan Pirats Internorm telling the author at the time he was “very interested in returning to the UK in the future”.

The source would not be drawn on a name but expected the signing to be made shortly.
