CHELMSFORD, UK -The Chieftains will be looking to get back to winning ways with a win over the Oxford City Stars who make the trip to Essex on Sunday night. After last weekend's double defeat to the Wightlink Raiders the team spent a long time after Sunday's game in the locker room with head coach Dean Birrell going over what went wrong and what needs to change. The general vibes coming from the players and management is "We know what we have to do to turn things around".

Speaking to Chieftains TV this week Ross Brears, who has been in fine form as of late, stated

"The team has to show more passion for the cause. The team has to come together and when we do we'll start winning games again. Things are starting to happen off the ice and we're coming together as a team and that in turn will help on the ice. The main thing is though that we need to show more passion and play with passion and I believe we'll show that"

Dean Birrell echoed those sentiments after last Sunday's game.

"Winning was easy early in the season for us, but we need to get back and work hard again. We have to learn our lessons and start picking things up again. It's a weekend to remember in some respects as we need to remember what happened and what areas we have to work on.

"Oxford come to visit us having lost their coach recently (Simon Anderson left the City Stars to take up a coaching role at Premier League side Swindon Wildcats) but they've brought some guys in who can play and will play and we have to be aware of that. Oxford are never a simple side to beat and we haven't had any easy games against them. We've got to pick our game up again, as we head towards the play-offs, and I hope we can start with a win over the Stars as we play game 2 of our 6 home games in a row series".

Face off at the Riverside is 6:30pm tonight.
