Starting with the Eastern Conference.The 2 best teams in the NHL are in the Western Conference, Colorado and Dallas. The worst teams in the NHL is also out West, Calgary. Maryland Comeback Falls Short
The Maryland Black Bears took the ice Friday night, riding an eight game win streak where they outscored opponents 45-13 in that span. The Elmira Aviators had other ideas, however, as they used a four goal second period to down the Black Bears in overtime by the score of 5-4. Maryland forward Harrison Smith started the scoring in the second period with a pair of highlight-reel goals. Wheeling’s Pavlenko named ECHL Goaltender of the Week
Maxim Pavlenko of the Wheeling Nailers is the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 1-7. Pavlenko went 3-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .964 in three appearances last week. The 23-year-old stopped all 32 shots in a 4-0 win at Reading on Wednesday, made 20 saves in a 3-1 victory against Greensboro on Friday and turned aside 29 shots in a 5-2 win over the Gargoyles on Sunday.
